Selection headaches for Bangladesh game

Being a selector is easy when all the good players are fit. During the entire Ashes campaign, only one player – Stuart Broad – succumbed to serious injury. But world cups are never a breeze for an England camp, and KP’s hernia has ruled him out the tournament, while Broad’s side-strain makes him a serious doubt for Bangladesh on Friday. Cricinfo have gone as far as suggesting that Broad may even have to follow Pietersen home, so severe could the injury be.

So who would you pick for Bangladesh? Trott, Bell or Bopara to open? And bring back Colly to bowl KP’s overs? Plus, if Broad’s out, does Luke Wright finally get a look in?

Thoughts?

  • Swann to open as per his Notts role. Collingwood for KP and bat 6 and Shahzad for Broad.
