Hair today, but gone tomorrow

Sreesanth- ecstatic after getting Pietersen out.

No, this article isn’t a tribute to former Derbyshire, Gloucestershire and England baldy Kim Barnett, it’s a tribute to Sree Sreesanth, and his ever changing hairstyle – which unfortunately, due to the imminent return of Zaheer Khan for the third test, English audiences won’t get to see again for a while.

It’s a real shame. In Nottingham, Sree was sporting some kind of 1980s retro scouser haircut, an apparent tribute to shiny Puma tracksuits and Harry Enfield skits.

An unofficial spokesman, who may or may not have any ties to the Indian team whatsoever, told us that Sree had asked his hairstylist to create a look that reflected his volatile personality.

Only one look therefore would do – they call it ‘the alright alright, calm down, calm down, they do dough don’t dey dough dough’ cut.

The Indian team management has ruled out the possibility that Sreesanth was a fan of Liverpool Football Club during the 1980s – although Terry McDermott, who may or may not have actually starred in Harry Enfield and Chums, was surely his favourite player.

Sreesanth’s agent has also refuted claims, made by an insalubrious cricket blog, that his client has a plethora of new sponsors lined up. Representatives from Birdsnests Inc, the manufacturers of Brillo Pads, and Buffon Solutions, who make horsehair toilet brushes, have refused to comment.
