India Versus Australia Fixtures This Month

India is currently hosting Australia since the 17th of September for a three match T20I series and a five match ODI series that is set to last until the 13th of October. The first match is being played at Chennai, while Nagpur, Bengaluru, Indore, and Kolkata are the other hosting cities for the ODI’s.

The main point of this series is certainly the highlighted fact that Gawahati and Thiruvananthapuram will be hosting international matches for the very first time. India will be coming into the series after some impressive ODI wins against Sri Lanka and West Indies, and both were achieved away from home.

Before the start of the ODI series, the Australian team has played a warm-up match with none other than the Board President’s XI squad. During their only warm up match, Australia won by not less than one hundred and three runs just before the limited overs series which they are set to play against India. The captain of the Board President XI team was Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Upcoming young cricketers like Washing Sundar and Nitish Rana were part of the Board President team, however, surprisingly Yuvraj Singh had no place.

The last limited overs tour of Australia to India was back in the year 2013, where they were defeated during the seven-match ODI’s and the one off T20I. 4 over 44 was picked up by Ashton Agar as Australia finished with a glorious 103-run success in the warm up game at the Mam Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 347 for seven was scored by the visitors, with Marcus Stoinis being the top scorer with not than 76. Some incredible fifties were also chipped in by the likes of Travis Head, Steve Smith and David Warner. The Aussies has just finished a test series in Bangladesh recently, where they list in Dhaka for their first test. However, they bounced back while playing at Chittagong where it was incredibly hot.

Earlier this year, India hosted the Aussies for a 4-match Test Series. While Australia got the better of the first Test, India did incredible well to come back during the second Test. It was a draw for the third Test, while India won the last Test, making it a 2-1 series win for them.

Currently, the second ODI is set to happen in Kolkata on the 21st of September, while the third one is scheduled in Indore on the 24th of September. Bangalore will host the Fourth ODI on 28th of September, and finally the Fifth ODI will take place in Nagpur on the 1st of October. The T20I series are set to be hosted in Ranchi, Guwahati and Hyderabad on the 7th, 10th, 13th of October respectively.

  • Another exciting series, the first two matches have been won by india comfortably but the level of competitiveness between the two teams is just amazing!

  • I’ve watched both ODI’s so far and saldy I can’t agree that they’ve been that exciting. One sided results that have been predictable early on in the second innings.

I’m sure Indian fans will hate me for saying it but hey ho.
