How good is Tamim Iqbal?!

Hang on a sec. If Bangladesh are supposed to be so poor, why does one of their batsmen continually flay our bowling to all parts? When he did it a couple of times in his own backyard we thought ‘ok, it’s probably a flash in the pan’. But then came the hundred at Lords – which even one-eyed England fans had to admit was pretty special. And now the little blighter has gone and done it again. What cheek! Somebody ought to remind him that Bangladesh are only here to make up the numbers. Next time mate, throw your wicket away like a good little boy – you’re ruining Anderson’s confidence!

Joking aside, we’d like to say fair play to Tamim. The Bangladeshis have discovered a little gem. If they can just find a test class bowler or two, they may yet become a respected force in Test Cricket. It’s just a shame that the rest of their batsmen folded like an origami cat to 216 all out (in reply to England’s 419). Until Tamim’s team mates learn to apply themselves, the Bangladeshis will always be paper tigers.

  • Tamim is a treat to watch – nice to see all the dull Boycottisms about how to open the batting so resoundingly thrown out of the window.

Apparently he’s keen to play county cricket . If I was Geoff Cook I’d be getting on the phone to his agent, if he has one – would be good value even just for T20!

  • He looks a real talent and i think Bangledesh have a core of five players who could do well. Just need to find a couple of seamers otherwise Tamim will open the batting under huge pressure every game.

  • Happy birthday Tamim.Best wishes for you.And i always likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you.
